Surviving Thanksgiving as a Vegan (or aspiring Vegan)

There's nothing more special than spending the holidays with your loved ones. But let's face it...not everyone at your Thanksgiving dinner table will be vegan and that's okay. You're not showing up to argue with your Tía (aunt) or Abuela ( grandma), especially with the year we've had.

Here are 3 tips to help you survive Thanksgiving as a first-time vegan or aspiring vegan (because there's no better time to go vegan than now).

1. Make a dish and don't tell anyone it's vegan

Tell them it's vegan after they've tried it but first make sure no one has any food allergies.

Doing so you'll get a genuine unbiased opinion on the dish.

2. Buy dessert & bring it to the festivities

Who says no to pumpkin pie or cheesecake?

3. Have patience

Some family members may be worried about your protein intake or will ask why you decided to become vegan. Not everyone will agree with your views and that's okay. Use this as an opportunity to educate them on the benefits of adopting a plant-based/vegan diet.
